Next Level Games, the developers behind Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, recently have stated that they would like to work on a Legend of Zelda title in the near future. Though they are happy with how they worked on Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, they stated that they are happy working with any of Nintendo’s IPs and want to work on a Mario and Zelda title.

“Really, we are grateful to work on any Nintendo IP but if there are any wish-granting entities listening out there, we would love a chance to work on a Zelda or Mario game!”

A Legend of Zelda fan recently got her Yearbook Quote posted on reddit and has gone viral since then. This fan, named Suzanne, quoted one of her favorite grunts from Link which was “Hyaaaaaah!” for her yearbook photo. While some decide to use quotes from famous people in history, Suzanne decided to draw inspiration from the Legend of Zelda series.

Texts from Zelda is a relatively new tumblr that focuses on, you guessed it, texts from The Legend of Zelda Universe, as received by Link. There’s a place for you to text Link, himself (that is, the person who runs the site, of course), if you have any witty texts of your own you’d like featured on Texts From Zelda.

Zelda’s “Draw My Life”

Posted by: Kaynil

Tags: , , , ,

For those unfamiliar with this fad, Draw My Life consists of videos where people make a series of drawings which they link together with a voiceover explaining about their life. It is not as repetitive as it sounds because other than talk about your life people can use whatever they like and cover whatever aspect they want of their life.
Today I found out that Machinima decided to join by having Princess Zelda’s turn with the white board. I am sure you will enjoy the ride and the references.

So, how did you like it?

You Probably Couldn’t Afford to buy Hyrule Castle from Ocarina of Time

Kotaku has made an interesting article about Hyrule Castle and why they think that no one would be able to afford to live in Hyrule Castle, unless they were pretty much millionaires.

An infographic by Movoto has shown that Hyrule Castle would possibly upwards to $113,807,400. Not only that, they have placed that Ocarina of Time‘s Hyrule was based on the Tuscany area of Italy.

Here’s some points to prove their theory:

The Gerudo Desert: This was one of the tricky parts. Sure it was easy to find places with forests, fields, and even mountains—but to throw a desert in there? C’mon, geography! But in Tuscany, Italy there is the Accona Desert. In fact, it even lies to the west, much like Gerudo in the game.

The Volcano: Now this was another reason Hyrule had to be Tuscany: Larderello Volcano. Surrounding Larderello volcano is the village of Larderello, aka Kakariko Village from the game. And surrounding the village, mountainous terrain where if you look hard enough, you’ll probably find some Gorons wandering around.

The Lost Woods/Kokiri Forest: Berignone Forest, one of the largest forests and today, natural reserves in Tuscany.

Lake Hylia: Lake Montedoglio is nestled in the Province of Arezzo in Tuscany. This lake has been well-known for its fishing for years and years. (But sorry, I couldn’t find a real-life tunnel to Zora’s Domain.)

Lon Lon Ranch and surrounding field: The closest I found to Lon Lon Ranch was Podere Palazzone, a famous horse ranch in Tuscany. It is surrounded by miles and miles of green grassland, perfect for Epona to stretch her legs.

Hyrule Market/Hyrule Castle: Finally, the reason we’re all here: The castle. I thought since Hyrule Village is the capital city of the land of Hyrule in the game, it would only do to equate it to the capital of Tuscany: Florence. The Market in the game is the city of Florence, similar to how it actually was around 1400—merchants, mask shops, potions, painters, a large cathedral (the Duomo around 1400 was not the elaborate marble and colorful masterpiece that we see today; it was grey, tall, and austere—much like the Temple of Time.)

And if I haven’t already out-nerded myself, one final reason the land of Hyrule must be Tuscany, Italy: The ocarina. The first use of the ocarina in western civilization was in Italy centuries ago.

Amazing Skyward Sword Animated Cake

Posted by: Izagar
Posted on: March 11th, 2013
Posted in: Posted in Miscellaneous

willturnbow, a user over at Youtube, and his wife have designed a special Skyward Sword themed cake for their daughter. This amazing cake has several handmade figures and one Figma Link flying or moving around the cake. Ghirahim, the Demon Lord, stands up on the tornado he used to capture Zelda while Groose hammers the catapult he uses against the Imprisoned. Link rides on his faithful steed, the Loftwing, and you can see Skyloft “floating” above the Sealed Temple.

Here’s the video that shows the animated cake and the steps they took.

Zelda and Mario Mentioned by Rockstar Employee, Head of Grand Theft Auto

Posted by: ArabDiSASTER

Posted in: Posted in Miscellaneous

Today on Kotaku, an interesting article appeared about the creation of the series Grand Theft Auto, with an interview from the game’s co-lead Dan Houser. The interview was not much on this small article, but in it Houser did manage to pay homage, in a way, to Nintendo’s two top franchises, Mario and Zelda. The snippet from the article reads as follows:

“”Anyone who makes 3D games who says they’ve not borrowed something from Mario or Zelda is lying…”

This is in now way big news, and though I hope to soon be releasing news about the next Zelda title, I will stick to what little good things we can get. It made my day a little better, how about you?

Check out the article here if you are interested.
