With price points and launch windows announced, both systems were available for customers to reserve almost immediately. Is the Wii U Basic Bundle Being Pulled?

More and more sources are confirming that the Wii U Basic bundle may just disappear from stores completely. The Wii U Basic bundle is the cheapest Wii U available and contains nothing more than the unit itself, a controller and the wires to hook it up to your television. The bundle also has less memory than the Deluxe bundle; 8 GB. Although unconfirmed, it seems likely that the Deluxe bundle is going to replace it, lowering the price of the Wii U by $50. Another possibility is that Nintendo is releasing a white Deluxe bundle to the States soon. This would get rid of the only reason to purchase the Basic configuration, other than the lower price.

Microsoft’s Rules and Regulations May End Xbox One’s Life

Microsoft has been trying to clarify their new system as well as try to “disperse” rumors about how bad the console is. But their policies on the Xbox One only seem to have clarified just who they really care about: their money. Not only do you have to log your Xbox One online once every twenty-four hours, you are also told that your physical copy of games are there only to install the game onto the Xbox One and that you have to purchase a license.
Mad yet? Here’s a list of policies that make your eyebrow twitch:
You do not own the games you buy. You license them.
Discs are only used to install and then license games and do not imply ownership.
People can play games installed on your console whether you’re logged in or not.
10 people can be authorised to play these games on a different Xbox One via the cloud, but not at the same time, similar to iTunes authorised devices.
Publishers decide whether you can trade in your games and may charge for this.
Publishers decide whether you can give a game you own to someone for free, and this only works if they have been on your friends list for 30 days.
Your account allows you to play the games you license on any console.
Your Xbox One must connect to the internet every 24 hours to keep playing games.
When playing on another Xbox One with your account, this is reduced to one hour.
Live TV, Blu-ray and DVD movies are exempt from these internet requirements.
Loaning and renting games will not be possible at launch, but Microsoft is “exploring the possibilities”.
Microsoft may change these policies or discontinue them at any point.
The last one makes me laugh, mostly because we know that the damage has already been done to the Xbox One.

Saying Hideki Kamiya is “tired” of Super Smash Bros. character requests is putting it lightly. Very lightly! Recently, the Platinum Games director posted on Twitter a very blunt response to all the Nintendo fans flooding his page with comments. (Warning - foul language ahead!)

Reggie Confident in Nintendo Direct Presentation

The president of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, was recently recorded saying that he feels very confident about the new Nintendo Direct route for Nintendo’s Wii U presentation, versus having a major conference over at E3:
“We’re always looking for new ways to surprise and delight. We’ll still be at E3 revealing new information about upcoming games and those of you at home will still be receiving the same stream of content and updates from the show as you always have, but it will be different and it will be better.”
There’s no denying that there will be many more people watching E3 through the internet versus being at the conference. What tricks do they have up their sleeves?
