During the special Japanese Nintendo Direct, the developers of Monster Hunter 4 had shown a new costume for the game. This Skyward Sword Link costume will allow players to play through the game as Link, utilizing a few of his weapons, as well as some of the weapons that are a part of the Monster Hunter 4 universe.
Link’s Hideaway recently posted a news post regarding about an interesting news post about Comic-Con. Dark Horse, the publishers of Hyrule Historia, had showcased three new statues from the Legend of Zelda series: Twilight Princess Link, Skyward Sword Link, and Twilight Princess Ganondorf. Another statue of Scervo, the pirate-robot mini-boss from Skyward Sword, was also shown, but there are no images of it yet.
This weeks featured Fan Art is “Link” by Elentori.
The picture, as you can see, shows a light and dark half Link which seems to be a combination of both Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess Links. The picture, though a mere inspiration from another artist, can also convey the thought that everyone in the world has their own light side and dark side, just as Link has. In Twilight Princess, it was shown that even Link himself craved power.
What I like about this picture is how it shows both the light and dark half of Link at the same time. Not only that, I love the brush strokes that were in this picture, tying everything together flawlessly. Dark Links eye really draws you into the picture, while Links calm look gives the viewer a nice feeling.
A Legend of Zelda fan recently got her Yearbook Quote posted on reddit and has gone viral since then. This fan, named Suzanne, quoted one of her favorite grunts from Link which was “Hyaaaaaah!” for her yearbook photo. While some decide to use quotes from famous people in history, Suzanne decided to draw inspiration from the Legend of Zelda series.
Texts from Zelda is a relatively new tumblr that focuses on, you guessed it, texts from The Legend of Zelda Universe, as received by Link. There’s a place for you to text Link, himself (that is, the person who runs the site, of course), if you have any witty texts of your own you’d like featured on Texts From Zelda.
I’m going to start to post some Zelda Wallpapers on Zelda Sanctuary in the future. Right now, I have a wallpaper up for Skyward Sword Link. As you can tell, to keep with the theme of Skyward Sword, I added a cloud background and added more cloud effect brushes in front of Link.
If you want me to start making other wallpapers of characters or enemies from the Legend of Zelda series, please send us an email through our contact page. Please tell me the character you want me to make, and I’ll make a wallpaper out of it and upload it to my DeviantART account so you can download the zip file.
I will tell you in advance, I will only make wallpapers up to 2560×1440 resolution and won’t make wallpapers for three monitors unless you wish to commission me for it.
Please tell me what you think about the wallpaper down below!
This week’s fan art comes from zerochan.net, and features a plethora of Links to fawn over. Which one is your favorite? Sound off in the comments below! (Mine? Tie between the boyishly playful Young Link of OoT, and the dark and brooding TP Link.)
Ready for more good Zelda Merchandise? Of course you are!
TheCuraga, an artist at DeviantART, has created two shirts for you that you can wear. The first is “The Hero” a shirt dedicated to Link, the hero of the Legend of Zelda series. The second shirt is “The Shadow” which is dedicated to Link’s evil shadow, Dark Link. Both cost around $25 to purchase and can be sold in different colors.
If you like the t-shirts, be sure to purchase them and add them to your favorites on DeviantART.
We have an two amazing Zelda cosplays we wanted to share with you today.
First off is an amazing cosplay of CourtoonXIII who cosplays as Goddess Zelda in the cosplay of Guardian. Though simplistic, you can see that she spent a lot of time trying to get the details right on the dress and wristband. Then to have the cosplay of Link of Solo-Dono who cosplays as Link in the previous photo and the photo in “Gaze Upon the Face of Your Savior!“. The detail on the Link cosplay is amazing and make its seem like Skyward Sword Link had jumped into reality. I love the expressions that Solo-Dono did for Link as well.
