Story
After the recent events in Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, Link travels away to train to fight against threats in the future. But while he is at sail, his ship is wrecked and Link gets stranded on Koholint. He is taken into the household of Tarin and Marin. Marin is fascinated by Link being a foreigner and says if she were a seagull, she would travel across the seas. After Link retrieves his sword, he is told by an owl to wake up Koholint's Guardian, the Wind Fish, to return home. To awake the Fish, Link must acquire the eight instruments of the Sirens, while the Wind Fish is dreaming in an egg on Mt. Tamaranch. But during this task, nightmare creatures attempt to stop Link in hopes of obtaining the instruments to control the Wind Fish's dream world.
After collecting all the instruments, Link travels on to the top of Mt. Tamaranch to play the song "Ballad of the Wind Fish". This breaks open the egg where the Wind Fish sleeps and Link enters to fight the final monster. A nightmare becomes Ganon and several other creatures Link has seen in his past. The nightmare's final form is Dethl, a large being representing Vaati. After conquering Deathl, the Wind Fish says the land of Koholint was all a dream. The Ballad is played once more, and Link finds himself in the middle of the ocean surviving on driftwood, and the Wind Fish is over head. If Link did not lose any lives during the gameplay, Marin appears as either a Seagull or a Winged Woman depending on which version of the game you own.
